Hong De lions were at Victoria Harbour yesterday for the Melbourne International Dragon Boat Festival. We performed during a break in between heats in the morning and afternoon. The heats in the morning involved several teams from Victoria. There was a touching tribute to Breast Cancer victims by 4 Dragons Abreast teams before our performance. The four boats linked together and threw rose petals into the water. We were very happy to be invited back again by Dragon Boats Victoria to perform at this Festival. We had a lovely but very windy day! Big thanks to Jenny and David for getting us to perform yesterday.
We would like to acknowledge this performance as a last performance by Colin Liew (drummer) as he prepares to return to Malaysia permanently next week. We would like to thank him for his coaching and support of our team since we started in 2008. He will be sadly missed by us all! Good luck for the future and we will see him again when we visit KL!
