Following the World Lion Dance Championships, six senior members from Hong De trained with Khuan Loke Dragon and Lion Dance Association at both their training centres in Subang and Sungei Way. We were priviledged to be taught by Sifu Albert Fong from Khuan Loke. During some of these sessions we were joined by Hong De Reunion Island as well as Golden Lion Circle from Mauritius who were also there for the same purpose. We were able to refine some of our techniques and picked up some new moves to introduce back in Melbourne. We were also lucky enough to participate in performances with Khuan Loke over two occasions. We contributed one lion to the 45 lion performance at the Opening Ceremony in Genting as well as helped out with a ground performance in Klang on the Friday after Genting. On the Tuesday night following Genting, we were invited to a dinner reception hosted by Khuan Loke at the Armada Hotel in PJ. We were joined by teams from Mauritius, Reunion Island and representatives from Spain and Indonesia. We were also lucky that Master Siow were able to join us during this busy period. On Friday 30th July we were welcomed in Klang by the Chinese Cultural Centre and the Wen Qing Lion Dance troupe with another dinner reception! On Saturday 31st July, we also helped out Wen Qing in a lion dance performance at a dinner reception. Thank you to Sifu Albert Fong, Master Siow and Mr Tan from Klang for your kind hospitality. We really enjoyed the trip and learnt heaps with exchanges with the teams! We are also pleased to announce that we are now officially members of the Confederation of Sar Ping Lion Dance - we are very happy to be a part of the world-wide Sar Ping family.
