The preliminary draw list for competing teams were selected by ballot on Friday 2nd July 2010 at a press conference in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. There are a total of 27 teams competing on Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th July in the Arena of the Stars, Genting. Each country can have a maximum of 2 teams in the competition. Australia, represented by Khuan Yee Lion Dance (QLD) and Australia Cheung Keung (NSW - aka Chinese Youth League/Jin Wu Koon) will be competing on Day One of the Preliminaries. The defending champion, Kun Seng Keng from Muar will be the last on the list on Day Two. Countries participating includes Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Taiwan, USA and for the first time, Mauritius.
