The Hong De Lions were proud to sponsor the Chinese New Year Charity Ball at The Savoy Ballroom in The Grand Hyatt Hotel on Saturday 20th February. Over 400 guests including representatives from the State Government and the City of Melbourne and corporate sponsors were at the Ball. This is the 14th annual Ball organised by the Australian Chinese Events Committee and the proceeds of the Ball will be donated to the Adolescent Health Unit at the Royal Children's Hospital. Over $1800 was raised by the Hong De lions from red packet donations as well as a novel auction item for a lion dance performance. Other entertainment during the night included a performance by Pot Pourri and music from the Fred Cheah Band. Thank you to the ACEC for inviting us to perform at such a prestigious event.
