Hong De Lions joined the Federation of Chinese Associations to show support for multicultural diversity in Victoria. Walk for Harmony was led by Premier John Brumby from Carlton Gardens to Federation Square. A large number of cultural groups were involved in the walk. Our colourful lions and the FCA's dragons added to the festivities on the day.
Hong De would like to express special thanks to The Chinese Musuem (for providing us a change room) and FCA (for sponsoring our lunch). Channel Seven News link.&
A special thanks to all our members who braved the cold wintery Melbourne weather for the Walk for Harmony. We were lucky that the Bureau of Meteorology was wrong (again) with the predicted showers on Sunday.
