PappaRich Glen WaverleyWe opened the fifth PappaRich restaurant in Australia on the weekend. We were in Glen Waverley for the opening of the newest restaurant in familiar territory! A huge crowd had gathered by the time we were ready to perform. It was really good timing that the 3 cars parked in front of the restaurant had moved so that we were able to light firecrackers on the car spots! Congratulations to PappaRich for their continual success. We believe the next store opening will be in Sydney... wonder if we can get them to fly us up....

Due to the number of students we have from the West, we have decided to move to Footscray, much to the delight of most of our students. We are no longer training at Fusion dance after 4 years there. We have outgrown the storage space allocated to us. Our new training site, in a commercial zone in Hyde Street will accomodate all our equipment in the one place instead of being spread out in 3 houses in three different directions. We will be moving there this Sunday, so training will not commence until 12pm. The training times remain unchanged from 11am to 2pm. Our new venue will allow us to explore more aspects of our training, so we hope to see more exciting performances in the future!

Goona Warra Vineyard - Sen and EleanorWe had a nice drive on Saturday evening to Sunbury, (not far past the airport) for a wedding at the Goona Warra Vineyard. The couple wanted the lion dance to be a surprise for the guests, so we had to avoid the guests until it was time to perform. After the performance, we had a quick chat with the owner of the Vineyard and found out that the wines from the estate are exported to China! Wow!

Congratulations to Sen and Eleanor!

Fed Square Ten

We were part of the Fed Ten celebrations at Fed Square on the weekend to celebrate the tenth birthday. Several free concerts and activities were organised on the weekend. We were involved in the Family Concert which started at 3pm on Saturday afternoon. A small crowd had gathered when we first arrived and it was not long before more came for the 3pm concert. We were the opening act and we used the area in front of the stage so that we can interact with the on-lookers, besides, the dixie band after us had all their sound equipment set up on stage. We were also very lucky with the great weather (Melbourne's weather is rather unpredictable at times) as it rained in the morning. Happy Tenth Birthday Fed Square and thank you for inviting us be part of your celebrations!

PotStickerWe helped celebrate The Potsticker's First Birthday anniversary last week with lion dance performances over two nights in Caulfield. The first night was a very cold and wet night, the second was a beautiful warm Spring day - the photo was taken on the second day. We did not take any more photos as it was all hands on deck during the performance. We were also there last year for the opening last year. Congratulations Eric, wishing you all the best for another great year!
